The "Sunday Times" has reported that the "Liverpool Institute for
Performing Arts" stands to go broke. That's what Mark Fetherstone-
Witty, business manager of the Pop-Univ, calls "total nonsense", and
he has taken legal action against the newspaper. The paper claims
reconstruction costs for the buildings have doubled to 30 million DM.
Companies are trying to collect as much as 7 million in outstanding
accounts. Says Witty: All problems will be solved by January.

Paul's Bass is Here Again

So it has turned up again: The golden bass guitar which the Hoffner
company gave to Paul McCartney in 1964, has re-appeared 30 years after
it was stolen. The last owner bought it in a music shop three years
ago for $1200. They had obtained it from an impoverished widow of a
musician for $300. McCartney has no legal claim to the instrument,
which should bring $180,000 at auction.

            Besonders ärgert Paul eine  
           Interviewpassage, in der     
           John Lennon behauptet, "Ele-

           ben. Miles: "John muß damals 
           mit dem falschen Fuß aufge-  
           standen sein. Jeder weiß,    
           daß er wenig zum Song beige-

through his biography by Barry Miles, "Many Years from Now".
Now finally he had the time to do it -- and found a few problems;
so publication won't take place until at least next year.   
 
Paul was especially angry about a quote from John Lennon which insinuated 
Lennon had actually composed the song, "Eleanor Rigby".  
Miles:  "John must have been in the wrong.  Everyone 
knows that he had contributed little to the tune."

 from Paul McCartney asing them to leave
 their address. But any callers who did 
 have since been bombarded with animal  
 rights material explaining that the    
 'thousands' that would be saved were   
 animal's lives.

Liam's recent outbursts, however he can well understand.  "The

            Angeblich haben sich die

           müssen nun reduziert werden.

           der gefährlich werden", sagt 
           Derek Harman. Die McCartneys 
           sehen das allerdings etwas
