as he revealed his wife Linda's breast
cancer operation has been a "100 per
cent success".
Paul looked pale and tired as he told
of Linda's battle with the illness
which claimed the life of his mother,
Mary, when he was just 14.
The 53-year-old star said, "Linda had a
test 10 days ago which showed she had
breast cancer. She underwent an
operation which is called a lumpectomy.
The doctors have told her now just to
get some rest. We need peace & quiet."

England is set to become a
tourist attraction, if a local
politician gets his way.
The toilet happens to be situated in
Penny Lane - the street that was made
famous by the Beatles' song. The loo is
run-down and when it has been restored
the council wants it to be opened by
Paul McCartney, which they hope will
bring the tourists in.

never ignore his fans because he knows
how much an autograph can mean.
When he was a boy he used to wait
outside theatres in Liverpool to get
the autographs of stars. He says, "Some
didn't want to know and just walked
past this scruffy kid with his bit of
paper and pencil in hand. But one band
- an American band - stopped, signed
the autographs and their leader said:
'Hey kid, you can walk with me to the
car'. That made me feel so good that
when I got to have my bit of fame I
thought, 'if you can make someone's day
by signing your name, why not do it?'."

schein vertickt - angeblich,
um genug Geld für eine Weih-
nachtspute zu haben.
"Sie hat das Zertifikat

det. Nicht um seine Fähig-

Paul mit Kindern umgehen
kann.
Einmal waren Paul, John und
der kleine Julian Lennon ge-
meinsam im Urlaub. McCartney

und Indianer. Der Junge amü-
sierte sich königlich. "John

zu, äußerst glücklich zu
sein, bei den Beatles dabei-
gewesen zu sein.
"Das ist eine Periode mei-
nes Lebens, auf die ich sehr

Linda and Paul are said to be "upset".

Nähe erträgt.
Für eine Reise durch die
USA wurden nur vegetarische
Mitarbeiter eingestellt.
Aber o weh, ein Frisör ge-
stand kleinlaut, daß er
sich gelegentlich ein Häpp-
chen Fisch gönnt! Da mußte
die Müsli-Lady erstmal nach-
denken. Weil aber eine TV-
show nahte, befand Linda,
ein bißchen Fisch im Bauch
werde der Haarpracht nicht
schaden...

Würstchen, und Meg, Träge-
rin von sündteuren Krokodil-
leder-Pump, zeigte sich äu-
ßerst interessiert. Dabei,
erzählt Gallagher, steht
sie in Wahrheit vor allem

Paul McCartney is set to be a double
contender for the top slot in the
British charts this Christmas.
Go! Discs says a second EP taken from
the Help Bosnia charity compilation
album will be released in Britain in
the first week of December. A version
of the Beatles' Come Together, which
McCartney recorded with Paul Weller and
Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, is
strongly favoured to be on the EP.
But it faces competition from a second
McCartney project - his link-up with
surviving Beatles George Harrison and
Ringo Star.

Streit zwischen Paul & Jacko
Paul McCartney hat langsam die Na-
se voll vom Streit mit Michael Jack-
son. Grund des Zoffs: Jacko hat im-
mer noch die Rechte an den Beatles-
Songs, vor allem am von McCartney
geschriebenen Hit "Yesterday". Paul
will die Rechte (es geht um 263 Lie-
der) zurückhaben, hat auch schon
mehrfach an seinen Kumpel Jacko ge-
schrieben.
Nun droht die alte Freundschaft zu
kippen, weil Jacko Pauls handschrift-
liche Briefe stets als geschäftlich
einstufen ließ. Paul möge sich an
die Anwälte wenden. So behandelt man
keinen Freund.
