On January 12, Sir Paul's 1980 single, "Temporary Secretary" will be re-released on a compilation of 80s electronic dance tracks called Secret History. The tune first appeared on the McCartney II album. It was the third single released from the album and was Sir Paul's only 12" vinyl single (a rare item since only 25,000 copies of the recording were pressed). Sir Paul is thrilled ("chuffed" actually), saying:
"People have asked me what were my influences at the time I made the track, and really it was just the arrival of synthesizers and sequencers. The concept for the track came from an Alfred Marks Temp. Employment Bureau advert I saw in the paper.
"I'm really chuffed at the renewed interest in a track I made 23 years ago. Is this a musical direction I'll be exploring again in the future? Who Knows?"
