2003-Aug-10: Baby Picture

Today's Sunday Express reports that Sir Peter Blake, the artist who designed the famous Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover, would happily come out of "retirement" for two special commissions. The first, he says, would be to design another album cover:

"I would love to do a cover for Brian Wilson, the former Beach Boy. He is my hero. I would ask him to make a list of things as I think it really helps you see what the person is like."

The second would be to paint a portrait of the new McCartney baby, were he to be asked:

"I don't think that would happen, but I would certainly do it."

The 71-year-old artist recently launched an exhibition entitled Commercial Art 1960-2003 at the London Institute.
