Last evening, Heather Mills McCartney told Britain's Daily Post that there will be no New Year's day wedding for Stella McCartney saying:
"Oh, it's just not true. She is just on holiday, that's all."
Sir Paul's brother Mike, still at home in Heswall, told reporters:
"I don't know anything about it. Apparently I'm on a boat going from Holyhead, well, I'm not, I'm here."
When asked if Sir Paul or Stella had shared any wedding plans with him, he said:
"That is private - between them and me."
Alasdhair Willis's parents are still at home in their bungalow in the village of Marton near Middlesbrough. Mrs. Willis told reporters:
"We are still here so I think these reports must be untrue. I am sure if Alasdhair was about to get married he would have told us."
Sir Paul and Heather celebrated New Year's in Sir Paul's mock-Tudor Wirral home after having celebrated Christmas with the McCartney children at their East Sussex estate.
Meanwhile, the British press remain on alert with journalists keeping watch for the arrival of wedding guests at both Dublin and Belfast airports, and Irish ferry ports.
The Mirror continues to report that the wedding will take place soon. A "a source close to bride-to-be" is quoted as saying:
"The wedding is all ready to go - Stella was in Ireland last week to make final arrangements. It's going to be a very private ceremony and she has gone out of her way to keep it a secret - it's anyone's guess where the ceremony is actually being held."
The Mirror also quotes a family friend as saying:
"The guests haven't been told what day the wedding is taking place, but some of them have guessed that it could be on New Year's Day. Just like when Paul married Heather earlier this year, no-one was told where the wedding was taking place until they got there. The travel has all been arranged for Stella's guests, and they don't yet know whether the wedding is happening on New Year's Day or whether it will happen on Saturday the 4th."
The friend said that Stella had not "changed her attitude towards Heather in the slightest":
"But she thought she had better invite Heather because it would have caused such a problem with her dad and she didn't want there to be any unpleasantness on her wedding day. Stella has been very discreet about everything and she has only invited her best friends and her close family. She and the rest of the McCartneys were traveling to Ireland by ferry from Holyhead. I think Stella and Alasdhair thought it was romantic to have the wedding in Ireland, especially as her father's family are from there."
