London's Evening Standard reports that Stella and Alasdhair celebrated their engagement yesterday with a 16 hour party in London with their friends. Stella is said to be proudly showing off a moon stone diamond engagement ring set in white gold.
It all started with Alasdhair's six hour lunch at Casa Frattini with his former colleagues from Wallpaper magazine. From there he moved to the Cow pub in Notting Hill where Stella joined him about 8:00 p.m. having just returned on the Eurostar from Paris. Stella's arrival was greeted with a loud cheer of congratulations followed by rounds of gold tequila shots, goblets of European Leffe beers, more tequila and more loud cheers. From the Cow pub, the party moved to Henry's bar in Alexander Street where the 15 bottles of wine were consumed along with, more tequila and "Krakatoa" cocktails. The celebration ended at 4:30 a.m. when, after a scuffle with photographers, the tipsy couple returned to Stella's Notting Hill home.
One guest described the celebration to the Daily Star this way:"It was a booze-up to end all booze-ups. The wine and champagne didn't stop flowing all night. Stella has been keen to keep plans under wraps for a time. But she was pleased as punch tonight and determined to let her hair down. It was like a stag night crossed with a hen night and I'm sure there'll be a few sore heads in the morning."
