The Liverpool Echo reports that on Thursday, July 25 Sir Paul's brother Mike will join other Merseyside performers in a variety show being held to help raise money for the ECHO Sunrise Fund which supports local charities. Michelle Lewis, organizer of the event, says: "It is going to be an amazing evening filled with music and dancing and comedy. And you just never know who will turn up. At my last show Sir Paul McCartney ended up on stage."
It just so happens that Sir Paul will be in Liverpool that day to greet the Queen. (see January 29) As part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations, Her Majesty The Queen will be visiting the Walker Gallery on Thursday 25 July. She will be visiting the new galleries and touring the current exhibitions, including "The Art of Paul McCartney". (Please visit the gallery's photo diary of the exhibition to see some interesting shots of Sir Paul planning the exhibit, meeting the press, and opening the show to the public.)
The Sunrise Fund benefit concert will take place at the Liverpool Empire on Thursday, July 25, and tickets cost from pounds 6-pounds 12 from the box office on 0870 606 3541.
