2002-Apr-24: Backstage in Boston

Today's Boston Herald reveals some of the veggie requirements Sir Paul imposes on his tour venues.  First, he insists that all leather furniture be removed not only from his dressing room, but from the backstage common areas as well.  Secondly,  as expected, all food served backstage must be strictly vegetarian.  The venders inside and outside the Fleet Center were allowed to sell their hot dogs and sausage submarine sandwiches.  According to one of the planners of the Boston VIP party , "There was some talk of forgoing leather shoes and belts back there, but that was thought to be a little extreme.  They had to go overboard on the vegetarian stuff.  I mean, when you've got people spending $ 400 per ticket, they're looking for a little meat to go with their open bar. You had to make it worth their while."
