Fidel Castro has issued an invitation to Sir Paul to perform in Havana, Cuba. A Cuban embassy spokesman has confirmed this saying: "It's true that we've invited Sir Paul - he's seen as a big personality in Cuba. We haven't set the date yet, but we're hoping it will all be arranged soon."
One McCartney source told the Daily Telegraph, "Paul is definitely interested. For obvious reasons, the Beatles never got to perform in Cuba in the 1960s, so it really would be a bit of history."
According to an official McCartney spokesman adds: "We know all about the invitation and we're looking at when we can do it. Paul's current tour is called 'Drivin' USA', so we'd have to change the title if we go to Cuba. We're getting all kinds of requests at the moment. The Chinese have just asked him to play in Tiananmen Square, but that's probably not such a good idea."
