Liverpool's Walker Art Gallery gave a preview today of its "The Art of Paul McCartney" exhibition featuring 70 paintings, sculptures and photographs created by Sir Paul. The gallery's curator, Michael Simpson, say Sir Paul's work "is always engaging, often witty and at times illustrates his own moods, his love for family and friends, as well as his enduring fascination with color."
Sir Paul is thrilled to be exhibiting his work in his home city of Liverpool and in a gallery he used to visit with John Lennon:"John and I spent many a pleasant afternoon wandering around the Walker when we were young, so going back to the 'Pool with my paintings will complete some kind of circle for me and I'm really excited about it."The exhibition will run from May 24 to August 4.
