Shortly before her death in 1998, Linda McCartney finished putting the finishing touches on a book of photographs she had taken during the previous thirty years. Light From Within, which took her two years to compile, will be released in October. The book will open with forward written by her husband, Paul and will contain intimate portraits of the McCartney family. The collection will also feature shots of musicians such as Pete Townshend, Beach Boy Al Jardine, Jani Joplin, and Frank Zappa all photographed by Linda during a period in the late Sixties when she served as the house photographer for the legendary Fillmore East Theater. According to Pete Townshend, "I love her pictures of me from that time. I remember her as being very straight and direct, but kind of swirling, blond, limpid. I was such a fan of hers -- everything about her."
