Sir Paul described this evening's intimate in-store free 90 minute concert at Amoeba Music in Hollywood, California as "surreal". As he looked out at the 800 people pushed up against the record bins in the Sunset Boulevard store, Sir Paul got up from behind the piano and mused:
"I'd just like to take a little moment to just take this all in, OK?"
He also warned them, "No shoplifting please!". After singing a quick "Happy Birthday" to someone in the audience, he joked to the crowd, "You look like the creatures in Village of the Damned' then asked them to imitate the creatures in the English horror film. Sir Paul put on his best slack-jawed monster face himself.
Ringo Starr, one of the few celebrities in the audience, received a shout-out from his old friend at the end of the show. Ringo's wife, Barbara Bach, George Harrison's widow Olivia and Jeff Lynne were also in the crowd.
Here is the 20-song set list was the same one he used in his previous small-scale shows on June 7 in London and June 13 in New York city:
"Drive My Car"
"Only Mama Knows"
"The Long and Winding Road"
"I'll Follow the Sun"
"That Was Me"
"Back in the U.S.S.R."
"Nod Your Head"
"House of Wax"
"I've Got a Feeling"
"Let It Be"
"I Saw Her Standing There"
