Neil Aspinall, managing director of Apple Corps, revealed today that the entire back catalogue of the Beatles tunes is being digitally re-mastered for release on the Internet. In a written statement to Londons High Court where Apple Corps is engaged in a trademark lawsuit with Apple Computer over its logo (claimed Apple computers violated a 1991 agreement by using the Apple name and logo to promote and sell downloads though iTunes.) Mr. Aspinall commented:It would be wrong to offer downloads of old masters when I am making new masters. It would be better to wait and try to do them both simultaneously so that you then get the publicity of the new masters and the downloading, rather than just doing it ad hoc.
A spokeswoman for Apple Corps has confirmed the statement adding: Theres no firm date on any of this.
