According to Apple Corps chief, Neil Aspinall, we can look forward to the release of a completely new Beatles album. Mr. Aspinall told the Telegraph that Sir Paul, Ringo Starr and Sir George Martin are working together on some unreleased archive material to produce an album to accompany the 90-minute Cirque du Soleil "living Beatles experience" that is due to open at the Mirage in Las Vegas this summer (see October 15, 2004). This new Beatles album will contain "completely new music". According to Mr. Aspinall:
"It involves the creation, by the remixing and remastering of The Beatles' recorded performances, of completely new music, which will be featured in the show, and which should lead to the release of the show album."
Two years before his death in 2001, George Harrison and his friend Guy Laliberte, the founder of Cirque du Soleil, began to develop the idea of acrobats interpreting Beatles' songs. The still untitled show is expected to open in Las Vegas sometime this summer.
