The New York City Fire Department has received a special gift from Paul and Heather McCartney. The couple has given them a painting from their private collection. It is a 1974 work by artist Ron Kleinman featuring the fire truck once used by the members of Engine Company number 33 on Great Jones Street in Manhattan. The McCartneys presented the painting to the Uniformed Firefighters Association earlier this month along with a statement that reads:
"This is given with a deep respect and gratitude, from our family to yours, for all that you (the firefighters) have done. A heartfelt thanks, and I hope that all of the firefighters will be able to enjoy its beauty once it finds its resting place."
The painting will be displayed at firehouses throughout New York city.
