Today's Sunday Mirror reports that Sir Paul has rented the Millennium Dome as a rehearsal stage as he prepares to launch this European tour later this month. Sir Paul is reported to have paid pounds 250,000 to rent the Dome for three weeks. Fans are flocking to Greenwich, south east London, in hopes of catching a glimpse of him. The Mirror quotes a McCartney insider as saying:
"The tour will be one of the biggest shows - so we needed a huge rehearsal venue. We looked at disused aircraft hangars - but then someone thought of the Millennium Dome."
Sir Paul has also hired 18 trucks to move 80,000 pounds of McCartney stage tour equipment across Europe including the huge stage set, the largest ever outdoor video system, 75 speakers with 75,000 watts of power, and all the pyrotechnics equipment.
