Today it was Heather's turn to party at Buckingham Palace. While Sir Paul babysat with baby Beatrice, Heather was among the first to arrive at the Queen's International Women's Day luncheon at Buckingham Palace (see Feburary 4). The person Heather most wanted to meet at the event was former Prime Minister, Lady Margaret Thatcher. Heather said:
"I sat next to her husband Denis at a dinner about nine years ago and wanted to tell her a story. I had asked Denis what it was like to be married to such a forceful woman and he told me, She might be the boss in the boardroom but I am the boss in the bedroom. I wanted to tell her the story as it showed what great humour he had.
After being introduced to the Queen, Heather and the 180 other guests enjoyed a buffet lunch of casserole of salmon and monkfish in a cream saffron sauce, sauteed loin of lamb, risotto of mushroom and courgettes, with passion fruit cheesecake for dessert.
