There has still been no official confirmation that the wedding of Stella McCartney to Alasdhair Willis has taken place. However, small details about the festivities are starting to emerge, such as the report that the newlyweds were transported from the ceremony in a carriage drawn by two Clydesdale horses, and that the letters 'S' and 'A' were spelled out in flowers on the grounds of the Mount Stuart estate.
The wedding guests remain tight lipped as they leave the Isle of Bute. When asked about the ceremony, family friend and Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde told reporters that Stella looked "beautiful" and Sharleen Spiteri of the rock band Texas added, "It was good. It has been a lovely week." During the ferry crossing back to the mainland, Madonna remained in her Range Rover with blacked out windows while her husband Guy Ritchie strolled around on deck. Gavin Nielson, 18, who was briefly introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Richie by his father, the local harbor master, reported:
"They looked a bit tired. Madonna was wearing a knitted jumper and a black beret tilted to one side, and she smiled at me. She didn't say anything about the wedding. I suppose I was a little bit star-struck."
