The news from East Hampton, New York is that Sir Paul invited his band members, friends (many with babies and young children) and network executives to a local school for a private screening off his A&E television special Paul McCartney in Red Square. According to USA Today, Sir Paul introduced the film to his friends gathered at the Ross School with words of love for his wife, Heather, who was dressed for the evening in a "really comfortable" lilac maternity dress. He said:
"First of all, I'd like to say that I'm truly, madly, deeply in love with my wife, Heather."
Sir Paul called the Red Square concert "the culmination" of his recent Back in the World tour saying:
"I realized that the Beatles had once been banned in Russia, and called a bad influence on the youth."
The documentary explores the Beatles' impact on Russian youth through interviews with scholars, artists and political figures, including Beatles' fan Sergei Ivanov, a Russian defense minister. The program will premiere September 18 on A&E.
