According to today's Scottish Daily Record, Stella McCartney has moved her wedding venue from the Mull of Kintyre to the Isle of Bute instead. The site might possibly be the Mount Stuart house, a Victorian mansion on the east of the island.
Bute Marketing Group chairman, Charles Soane is hoping the rumors are true:"There's a great deal of secrecy here on the island at the moment. All the main hotels have been block booked by Mount Stuart for the end of August. Recently some upmarket people from down south visited us and took photos of the hotel rooms. We have not been told what the bookings are for yet. But if a big celebrity wedding like this came to Bute, it would be absolutely brilliant and boost the island's appeal."Today's Express quotes Bute's Tourist Information Officer, James McMillan as saying:"There are various rumors going round the island about the Stella McCartney wedding but at present I don't know anything for definite. However, Bute is an idyllic place for couples tying the knot. It is a perfect setting with amazing backdrops for good photo opportunities like the Winter Garden, the Esplanade and Ardencraig Gardens."A spokesperson for Mount Stuart denied that Ms McCartney was being married on the island but a staff insider confirmed that plans for the event were now being finalized with a date fixed for the end of August.
Stella, of course, isn't saying a word about it - not even during last week's launch of her new bespoke service (custom-made clothing service) at her London boutique where she entertained 15 of her girlfriends with a big poker game.
