According to an article published in today's Glasgow Sunday Mail, Stella McCartney will wed Alasdhair Willis next month on Saddell beach in Kintyre, her mother's favorite place on earth. The Mull of Kintyre video was filmed on Saddell beach and Linda was fond of riding her horses there.
No wedding banns have been posted at the Campbeltown register office. A spokesperson for the Landmark Trust, the organization that owns the historic 16th century fort on the beach and the gatehouse at the entrance to the property, said she had no knowledge of the wedding plans. The McCartney florist, Ivor Maciver, also claims to not to know anything about the wedding:
"We have been delivering flowers to Sir Paul for years. He gives all his staff flowers at Christmas. He hasn't been here for over a year though, and we haven't heard any plans for the wedding. But we'd only need a couple of days' notice to get it all sorted out. I'm not surprised it's at Saddell beach. That was Linda's favorite place on this earth."The newspaper states that preparations for the wedding are underway. A helicopter strip isbeing constructed in a nearby field where guests will land before boarding a flotilla of yachts anchored near the beach. Motor cruisers will ferry the guests from the yachts to the beach for the ceremony. One local caterer told the Sunday Mail:
"We have been told we will be contacted by an agent who will give us just two day's notice before it happens. They called it a major event and asked about our fridge capacity and storage space. It is going to happen in the next month and it will be at Saddell beach. We are being told to keep it tight. It is all being handled through an agent and their names are being kept well away from it. If Stella gets the weather, she would be hard pushed to find a prettier place in the world. The beach and the cove are spectacular. It's almost impossible to get to without a boat. There's only one road and if they control access down it then they effectively have the beach to themselves. Everyone is so excited because people here have such a lot of time for Sir Paul and his family."As always, Stella's spokesman declined to comment on the wedding plans. However, Stella recently spoke of her happiness saying, "I have never felt like this in a relationship before... it's just a dream."
