(updated March 5) It was announced today that the University of Dundee will award Stella McCartney an honorary degree during their graduation ceremony for design students in July. According to a spokeswoman for the university:"We have a very strong school of art and design and we felt it was appropriate to honour Stella for her immense contribution to fashion. We picked her over many other young British designers because many of our students feel an affiliation with her. She is young and outgoing and has really made a mark on fashion."Stella will be awarded an LLD by the University's Chancellor Sir James Black. The ceremony will take place in London at the Estorick Gallery. Irish poet, Seamus Heaney, will also be honored at the ceremony for his contributions to literature.
Stella will be in Paris next week to unveil her winter ready-to-wear collection.
