Today's London Daily Telegraph reports that Queen Elizabeth will join Sir Paul on-stage at Monday's Golden Jubilee rock concert at Buckingham Palace and will "almost certainly" sing along with him during his performance of All You Need Is Love.
This will not be the Queen's singing debut. During the VE Day jubilee in 1995, the Queen joined Dame Vera Lynn, Sir Cliff Richard and Elaine Page in the singing of We'll Meet Again. However, it will be the first time the Queen has ever gone on stage at a pop concert. Joining Sir Paul and the Queen on the stage for this performance will be Prince Philip, the Prince of Wales, Princes William and Harry, and performers Ozzy Osbourne, Mis-Teeq, The Corrs, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Cliff Richard, Annie Lennox and Eric Clapton. A concert organizer has been quoted as saying, "This is a real first for the Queen and for the royal family. It shows how in tune she is with her country - it's a totally unprecedented move."
