Updated May 16. Today's Sunday People is reporting that guests of the McCartney-Mills wedding have been sent invitations graced with a peach rose on a cream background. Other sources state that the guest list is short. Only family and a handful of very close friends are among the 80 people have been invited to the ceremony.
The invitation in intriguing. The guests do not know where the ceremony will take place. The wedding invitation instructs the guests to assemble at Heathrow Airport hotel at 8:30 sharp on the morning of June 11. They are to bring their passports but to leave their mobile phones and cameras at home. ( A selection of wedding photos will be sent to them later.) The guests will be flown to the secret wedding locale and returned to Heathrow the following day.
The article states that Heather has chosen to be wed in a remote location in southern Ireland. The London press is betting that the ceremony will take place at Castle Leslie which is located in Glaslough, County Monahan. Sir Paul is well acquainted with this area of Ireland since his mother was born in County Monahan. Castle Leslie is a favorite McCartney retreat. They have even named a guest suite in his honor.
All this is mere speculation, of course. The details of the wedding remain top secret. A family friend is quoted as saying, "Paul is determined there will be nothing to spoil Heather's big day. Not even his four children know where in Ireland they will be watching the pair exchange their vows. The last thing they want is for the wedding to become a media scrum, hence all the smoke screens to keep people confused. All they want is a simple ceremony for their close friends and family."
