Today's Liverpool Echo features an interesting story about Sir Paul's meeting with "George" during his Chicago appearance. Marty Scott plays the role of George Harrison in the Beatles tribute band, American English. He does it so well, that he has moved Louise Harrison to tears. George's sister claims that being with Marty is like having George with her again.
Louise Harrison lives in the United States now - in Illinois. When she came to Chicago to attend Sir Paul's concert, she stayed at Marty Scott's home for a few days where Mr. Scott says, "We stayed up every night and she reminisced about her childhood with George."
At the Chicago concert, Louise invited Mr. Scott to meet Sir Paul:"Louise told Paul I played George in 'American English' tribute band. When Sir Paul's fiancee Heather Mills entered the room, the ex-Beatle made her guess who Louise was."He couldn't resist asking Sir Paul for an autograph. Mr. Scott recalls:"He said: 'Marty with a Y, right, like Marty Robbins?' and proceeded to sing the Marty Robbins hit El Paso. It's my dad's favorite, so I joined in with him. I didn't realize how cool that was until I was walking out, because I had to be held up by Louise, realizing I had just sung with Paul McCartney!"A photo of this backstage meeting along with more narrative on the event is posted on the American English web page.
