Today's Boston Herald reports that Sir Paul's show at the Fleet Center last evening "was as close to perfection as anyone could have dared to hope" and called it "an ecstasy-inducing performance that will surely rank among the best 2 1-2 hours spent listening to music in the lives of the sold-out audience." The Boston Globe added that Sir Paul looked remarkably spry and refreshed and noted that, "there simply were no dull spots in this show. McCartney kept building the momentum." They concluded, "Whatever has been motivating McCartney lately - whether it's his romance with fiancee Heather Mills or the wakeup call from Harrison's death - it has all been poured into this magnificent comeback performance."
The Boston concert held special significance for the band's drummer. During the evening, Sir Paul made certain to remind the audience that Abe Laboriel Jr. was "a hometown boy" from Lexington, Massachusetts.
