The following letter to the editor was published in today's London Daily Telegraph:Sir,
Thank you very much for the obituary, which you included in your pages, on my dear cousin, Bert Dahner (March 14). All of us in the family loved Bert and were very proud of his achievements. We believe he is possibly the only man to have compiled crosswords for all the leading British quality papers.
Your obituary captured the essence of the man very nicely. I once asked him how he got into crosswords. His reply was simply: "Your old man." He will be missed by all of us in the family for his laconic wit and throwaway sense of humor. Above all, he would have been very proud of the obituary you so kindly wrote.
