Sir Paul is thrilled about being nominated in the best original song category for a Golden Globe award for his song Vanilla Sky. He also appears to be a big Tom Cruise fan, having asked the film's director, Cameron Crowe, "What was it like working with Tom Cruise?"
It only took Sir Paul four days to write "Vanilla Sky" for Cameron Crowe:"All I had to do was watch 40 minutes of the film to agree. I saw Cruise acting his heart out, and I thought Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz also delivered great performances. It's very exciting being nominated for a Golden Globe."Sir Paul was previously recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 1984 when his song No More Lonely Nights was nominated for a best original song Golden Globe award for his film "Give My Regards To Broad Street". That year, the award was won by Stevie Wonder for I Just Called To Say I Love You from the film "The Woman in Red".
The 59th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be presented Sunday, January 20th from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The awards show will televised on NBC.
