Published on the thirty fifth anniversary of the band's celebrated U.S. debut, this completely revised and redesigned edition, including new color photographs, is a must for every Beatles fan.
This book presents a stunning collection of photographs by the acclaimed photographer
who accompanied the Beatles on their first world tour in 1964.
Published on the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Beatles' celebrated debut in the United States, this completely revised and redesigned edition includes previously unpublished color photographs taken in recent years of the band members and their families, as well as additional commentary by the author.
Through his photographs, Benson captures the Fab Four in their most private and unguarded moments -- composing in a Paris hotel room, opening fan mail, at the beach in Miami, and, more recently, at home with their wives and children.
This collection of more than 150 photographs - both new color and classic black-and-white images-provides an essential chronicle of the Beatles' rise to stardom and their establishment as icons of contemporary culture.
Harry Benson is a native of Glasgow, Scotland, who accompanied the Beatles to America for a
London newspaper in 1964. He began working for Life magazine in 1968 and his photographs continue to appear in Vanty Fair, GQ, Esquire, Paris Match, and Life magazines.
Selected twice as the Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association, Harry Benson has been the recipient of many awards, including an Overseas Press Club award and two Leica Medals of Excellence. His work is in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
